Car 30 was wrecked on January 19 1903 as the trailing truck derailed while it was northbound entering the truss bridge at South Lee. Following the wreck, the bridge was relocated to lessen the severity of the curve at this location. The car was rebuilt but was always considered somewhat of a jinx on the system.
