This photo was taken shortly after Insull bought the South Shore. The train is facing east at the Shops. It was a special train to test the rented diners seen towards the rear of the consist. If you can make your way through the ortho-chromatic tone you can tell the Niles cars are painted orange and tuscan, and the old CLSSB insignia is a darker tone against the lighter orange. The building stood as of 2003 but has had to have siding installed, as it was crumbling, and the expense of restoring it was too great.
