Car 1830 is shown shortly after being delivered by Wason in 1917, possibly on a demonstration run as the side roll sign is blank. Ten suburban cars (1822-1831) were built for Hartford-New Britain interurban service, with Standard C-55P trucks and HL multiple-unit control. They were built as single-end cars, very much a rarity for the Connecticut Company. The cars were rebuilt to double-end very soon after delivery to enable them to be turned back at crossovers along the New Britain line. The ten cars were split evenly between the Hartford and New Britain Divisions, and operated the Hartford-New Britain interurban line until its demise on April 25 1937.
