1054 Baldwin Westinghouse steeple cab. 1054 and 1055 were built for the Waterbury Divisions needs, to haul freight cars to and from Chase Brass as well as ice from Lake Quassapaug now and then. There was a special blurb in the Electric Railway Journal about these engines. They stayed in Waterbury all their lives, then were sold to a dealer in 1937 after trolleys quit, and went on to other places during WW II and thereafter. This photo is at Waterbury carbarn, and youll notice the famous campanile tower of the Waterbury railroad station in the background just to the left of the locomotive.
