Richmond Shipyard Railway ex-NYC el cars 844 and 889 in 1950-52 at the Emeryville Shops. Left hand car is IRT 844 and right is 889, numbered 561 and 563 respectively on the RSRy.
These cars were saved for a project at the Maritime Museum. Cars were painted yellow and operated on a fantrip over the transbay lines at about this time.
That was the last time they ran until around 1968 at Rio Vista, where one of them (844/561) is still operated on special occasions.
Originally built by Gilbert Car Co in 1882, motorized between Dec1902 and Feb1903, they were retired in about 1939, and ran on RSRy until 1946.
The Manhattan Railways numbers are presumed to be the same as the IRT ones.
