63 at Temple and Silver Lake Blvd in 1946
It is worth noting that there was a total of 183 sowbellies on LARy, and 107 of those were rebuilt from older standards, by LARy, right in its own South Park Shop.
This one is an example, having been rebuilt from standard 391 in 1913 (as 45, becoming 63 in 1915).
Most of the rebuilt cars were four motor cars, while the new ones were (and remained) two motor cars, not worth a damn on most of the lines and too passé for the more level lines.
Have no doubt there were some severe grades on LARy.
