1424 on the 5 line near Inglewood Park Cemetery on June 30 1947.
This slide is near Inglewood Park Cemetery. The LA Railway used to have a funeral car, Descanso (Peaceful), that left the main near here on a spur into the cemetery.
It had a cut out in the side for the casket. My great-grandfather is buried there and the family used the car.
It has been preserved, after many years of sitting near the top of the Cajon Pass on land leased from the ATandSF by a rail fan group who used the car to rail fan the pass.
It is now at the Orange Empire Railway Museum.
