1439 on the W line on Broadway
More correctly, North Broadway, which actually bore little resemblance to the Broadway that ran through downtown. Notice the street lamp at the extreme left of the photo.
This was another Los Angeles hallmark for many years, as was the No Left Turn sign that was rolled into place in the middle of the intersection during rush hours.
