Shop switcher 9550 in the South Park Shops. Built by LARy in 1904, out of parts and junk from older() cars. Notice the remnant of a Bombay roof outline under the clerestory roof. This car was the shop switcher at South Park Shops. Its only job was to pull dead equipment onto and from the transfer table. It did this for busses and trolley coaches, as well as cars. What a kick to run...two 50hp motors, a K-type controller, and a gooseneck hand brake. There were a few of us involved in the acquisition of equipment who had to be certain that the equipment we were purchasing was operable. Thus, we got in a lot of time on 53rd St, just outside the shop running this and all the other cars that we bought, most at $200 each. Boy, did we have fun.
