Minneapolis Filtration Plant Railway
Although not part of Twin City Lines, this unique operation operated from an interchange with the Soo Line, up the west side of Central Ave on a third track, crossing the tracks of the Central Ave NE line. The line then swung northeast up a continuing hill to the plant.
The line's purpose was to haul chemicals to the plant, and haul workers at shift change times. There was no physical connection between this operating and the regular streetcar line
When major work was required on the car, it was run down the hill, derailed from its track and rerailed onto the TCRT streetcar tracks. The car was then run to Snelling Station for repairs. Returning, the same process was repeated, except going up hill.
