Looking south at the west side of Place d'Armes. The tracks on the east and west sides of the square is where many car lines terminated and originated. This was traditionally the transfer spot between routes serving the west and east parts of the city. The photographer is facing the famous Notre Dame Basilica just to the left of the viewfinder. The Sulpician Seminary, the building with the curving roofline behind the car is one of the oldest in North America dating back to 1684. It also features the oldest clock on a building in North America.
