A Gary Railways car in the North Broadway loop.
"I recognize the location because of the building in the background. It was originally a hospital built and operated by the steel company to care for its injured employees
Later it was converted into an office building. My father worked in that building as a time-keeper in the late 30s and early 40s. It is strange to see a single-ender with a 45th Ave destination tag.
When I rode these cars in the mid-40s, there was no way of turning a single ender at 45th Avenue. Perhaps there was a Wye down there earlier when this picture was taken."
