Chicago-New York Air Line 102. About two or three miles and track were strung in 1907 in LaPorte IN.
In reality, this was a huge stock swindle where stock was sold to investors promising to build a high speed rail line without curves 700 miles straight across Indiana, Ohio Pennsylvania, New Jersey and into New York.
The promoters then absconded with the investor money and disappeared into the night.
