Philadelphia Transportation Company era
PTC route 55 trolley service ran only during rush hours in the years after World War II and only on the city portion from Broad and Olney to Cheltenham Avenue and Old York Road.  It was actually abandoned on Friday, June 27, 1952. The photograph of modernized Peter Witt car 8245 at Luzerne Depot was taken on Sunday, December 14, 1952 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of electric     railway operations in Philadelphia.  It was the first ever fantrip run by the newly created Metropolitan Philadelphia Railway Association and was the only PTC
       fantrip in 1952. Car 8245 continued to operate until 1956.
