Philadelphia, PA
Philadelphia Transportation Company era
8132 working route 65 on 6th St. at Snyder Ave. before March 1953. 8132 was a subway surface line S.E.R. [single end rebuilt] that had been in an accident. It was rebuilt at Kennsington Shops, and towed to Luzerne for storage from west Philadelphia. From there, it was towed to the shops. On 11/17/51 it was assigned to Luzerne. It had been completely rebuilt and the car was then assigned to Luzerne for a while. This photo was taken on a Saturday/Sunday or Holiday. They were the only days that S.E.R. cars ran on this line. Owl cars were often S.E.R. cars
