Track and wire looking west on Orthodox at Maples in about 1955.
Shown 8 years after conversion to trackless, many Philadelphia trolley tracks were laid in brick or Belgian block, making rail replacement easier compared with installations set in concrete or rails surrounded by macadam paving.
The landmark is the Reading Company Frankford Branch railroad bridge under which the rails and overhead wires ducked.
