401 on Broadway at Front St. in front of the Pickwick Hotel and Greyhound Station.

These cars were originally delivered with MU equipment, which was removed from these cars to lighten them up and conserve electricity during the depression.

Only ten cars were capable of fast running after this and remained assigned to the La Jolla and Ocean Beach lines until they were discontinued in 1940 and converted to bus.
