#414 headed west on Broadway at 5th on its way to the Union Depot.
These cars were originally delivered with pantographs. The platform mounts from these cars with the exception of car 405.
405's accident was considered the worst in SDER history. A head-on collision in the fog on the Mission Beach-La Jolla line where one operator ran by a signal he did not see and died as a result of injuries several days later. Foortunately, no passengers were more than slightly hurt. The pantograph platform was on the damaged end and was removed when the car was rebuilt
