St. near 5th Ave. This street parallels Broadway one block north, where
the San Diego Elec.Ry. trolleys ran. The train is signed for the last stop
on the Blue line in Mission Valley. Work is under way in 2003 to extend
the line east thru the San Diego State University to connect with the Orange
line in La Mesa .These cars have been retrofitted with A/C units as the
first 24 cars came without this feature,to save money.(#1001-1024) They
also had no tinted glass windows but these were added too. The coast lines
usually do not need this feature, but the east lines do, so to add flexibilty
to the fleet A/C and tinted windows were the norm after 1989.
