This is a gas-electric car.

From a Facebook post from David Muma, October 4 2019.

The Edmonton Interurban Railway was incorporated in 1910 to take advantage of a real estate boom and to connect the affluent bedroom community of St. Albert, AB with Edmonton, AB. The railway was completed to Edmonton city limits by July of 1913 with service commencing at the end of September of the same year

The line was extended into Edmonton, connecting with the Edmonton Radial Railway on December 21, 1913. A collapse in the real estate market and destruction by fire of the main depot and only car on April 1, 1914 brought the operation to a close
