These are the remains of St. Louis Public Service 1001, a streetcar built in 1907 by United Railways shown on November 29 2002. At this point, the roof of the car has rotted away, as have the windows. It was stored near the tunnel mouth at the Museum of Transportation. It should be noted that this car is NOT typical of the MoT collection, but rather is one of the unfortunate victims of the neglect that dogged the museum during the 1960's and 1970's. Even the current hardworking MoT volunteers are likely to find this specimen irreperable.
