E22A is an EP-1A GE motor rebuilt for passenger service in the 1950s. Wt: 658,500 lbs total / 523,500 lbs on drivers. TE: 43,100 continuous, 60,000 hourly, 75 mph max. When the Olympian was discontinued in 1961, this motor returned to freight service. Retired in 1968 and scrapped in 1973. This is the eastbound Olympian Hiawatha train 16 a short distance south of Seattle Union Station. Departure was at 330PM. The Hi was pulled backward from Tacoma into Seattle Union Station. Power was cut off and run around to couple to the head end. This was also done with westbound 15 from Seattle to Tacoma.
