Milwaukee Electric D22 was homebuilt in 1917 as a self-propelled covered flat car and is seen here on April 10 2004.
It was later rebuilt into an enclosed overhead line car, and ran on the TM until it was eventually transferred to the Wisconsin Electric Power Company plant at Port Washington.
It was in use there until 1972, when it was acquired by The Wisconsin Electric Railway Historical Society in East Troy, where it was in storage until TWERHS went defunct in 1989.
At that time it was sold to the Illinois Railway Museum, where it is now on display.
