The ghostly face of ex-Chicago Transit Authority S-606 peers out from beneath a tarpaulin at the Indiana Transportation Museum on May 29 2001.
This line car was built by the Chicago & Milwaukee Electric, and served for years on the North Shore.
In 1963 it was sold to the CTA and was used on the Skokie Swift and the Evanston line for over a decade.
On Thanksgiving weekend 1976 there was an electrical fire in S-606 and it burned. The hulk was sold to the Indiana Transportation Museum and has sat there ever since.
