Traction Around North America in the Early-2000s

This is one of only two remaining hobbleskirt cars in the world, and the only one in North America, seen here on August 7 2004. Brill built in 1913, ex-Fresno Traction 51 was designed as a center-entrance low-floor car and operated until 1934. The car originally had a high floor at each end to accommodate the trucks, but these sections of the cars floor (and frame) were removed when the body was converted into a building.
