Illinois Traction System 433 at the corner of Garden and S Adams in Peoria. The Garden St shuttle ended here and the car was probably photographed while laying over.
During the rush hours the cars ran downtown, providing Garden St residents with a one-seat ride and also giving additonal service along S Adams during the peak.
This was accomplished by turning into the wrong track on S Adams, then negotiating a crossover.
The Garden shuttle was about a mile long, single track with one passing siding halfway and was abandoned in - I think about 1938 - give or take.
