2501 on the 7 line at 1st St and Spring on July 10 1947. If you will look at the cutouts in the side skirts, you can imagine how far away from the ends the trucks were located. This caused the huge overhang which is why, except for fantrips, the 2501 stayed on the virtually straight 7 line. Note that the car still has trolley wheels. Carbon insert trolley shoes would not make their appearance for another year or three. And the number 30 (the run, or schedule, number) is in a strange location. They shortly went to a point above the right front window, and ultimately onto the back of the right rear view mirror.
