One of the famous sightseeing observation cars at Place d'Armes. There were four of these cars that did a 10-mile trip around the city's namesake mountain - Mount Royal - during the summer months. The northern half of the trip was essentially on track built by the Montreal Park & Island Railway, an electric traction company created to serve outlying areas of the city. The company was amalgamated into the Montreal Tramways Company in 1911. Interestingly the observation cars were painted in cream with red trim, colors used on one-man cars but there was always a conductor as well as the motorman on these cars.
