LaPorte
Chicago-New York Air Line
About two or three miles
of track and wire were strung in 1907 at La Porte, Indiana. This
was a huge stock swindle where they sold stock to investors in Chicago
promising to build a high speed rail line without curves 700 miles straight
across Indiana, Ohio Pennsylvania, New Jersey and into New York.
They then absconded with the investors' money and disappeared into the
night. Car #102 at an unknown location.
