The location is the north
Broadway loop. I recognize the
location because of the
building in the background. If I'm seeing the right building back there,
it was originally a hospital built and operated by the steel company to
care for its injured employees! Later it was converted into an office building.
My father worked in that building as a time-keeper in the late 30's and
early 40's. It's strange to see a single-ender with a 45th Avenue destination
tag. When I rode these cars in the mid-40's, there was no way of turning
a single ender at 45th Avenue. Perhaps there was a Wye down there earlier
when this picture was taken.
