Topeka
Topeka Railway Company
This photo was taken outside
the carbarn in early 1937 and shows TWO birneys numbered 125. The
car on the left was formerly 112 (American Car Co 1922). For some
unusual reason, Topeka scrapped it's cars in numerical order. The
original 125 shown on the right (American Car Co 1923) was in worse condition
so it was scrapped first. Cars were renumbered to keep the survivors
in numerical order. Topeka was an "All-Birney" city and ran 30 of
these cars until July 17, 1937.
