Calais Street Railway
An old postcard view of
two Calais Street Railway cars at the North Street junction. The
Calais Street Railway was an interesting northern Maine line with 6 miles
of track that ran across the border to St Stephens, New Brunswick, Canada.
In 1926 all these old cars were retired and 5 Birney Cars bought
second hand from the Boston Elevated Railway were used as replacements.
The Calais
Street Railway quit October
30, 1929.
