Auburn
Auburn & Syracuse Railway
Auburn & Syracuse Railway
operated local car lines in Auburn with a 27 mile interurban line from
Auburn to Skaneatles and Syracuse. City operation ended in 1927 and
the interurban line was abandoned April 15, 1930. When I was a kid
travelling through Auburn in the mid-1940s on US 20, there was a
boulevard lined with the traction company power poles still in place resembling
latice work similar to those used in downtown Albany.
