The Erie MU cars were originally
ordered by the Philadelphia and Western Railroad Co., but P&W was unable
to pay for them at the time, 1906. Thereupon St. Louis Car Co. sold them
to others. They were equipped with 11,000 volt 25 cycles (weren't Hertz
then) per second, a.c., the first to use it. the NH came later. These cars
ran on the Rochester & Genesee Valley Branch, Rochester to Mt. Morris.
