New York
Rochester
Erie RR
The line ran as electric,
with frequent interurban-type service up to the 1930's, then a few trips
remained with doodlebugs.
Most of this type of car
went to the Market Street Railway of San Francisco for their San Mateo
line where they were known as The Big Subs (Suburban) since SMF favored
streetcar-like vehicles. They lost a bunch of cars in the 1906 earthquake
so had to obtain whatever they could.
