This car is Delaware Lackawanna
& Western electric MU motor car #2628, built by Pullman in 1930.
Cars like this were nicknamed "Edison cars" because Thomas Edison himself
ran the first car for the inauguration of electric service in 1930.
Car #2628 later passed through the hands of Erie-Lackawanna and New Jersey
Transit before being retired in the early 1980's. It is now owned
by the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum, which tows it with
a diesel but has kept all of the car's electric equipment intact.
