New York State Railways
Car 856 (Kuhlman 1913) on
the MONROE line is discharging a crowd of shoppers opposite the landmark
Sibley Department Store in downtown Rochester in November 1940. All
Rochester surface streecars were abandoned March 31, 1941. The Monroe
Street line quit February 18, 1941. The empty Sibley's building is
still there.
