Lake Lamoka
The street car graveyardLake
Lamoka NY (just south of Rochester NY) was for many years, a real streetcar
graveyard. Many of the summer camps around the lake were built from
streetcar bodies - and most of these camps lasted until the early 1990's.
These photos were taken in 1993 - Wayne believes everything in the photos
is now gone.
Corning & Painted Post
Ryl 9036 - this single truck Birney car was purchased in 1924 from the
Boston Elevated Ryl Co. (The car number was still on the interior bulkhead)
Corning never changed it's number. The Corning & Painted Post
ended service March 31, 1930.
