Cleveland
Cleveland & Eastern
A scene taken at the corner
of Mayfield & Taylor Roads, looking West. The stone wall on the
left marks the boundary of the Severance Estate. The Severance Estate (the
last working farm in Cleveland Heights) was
bulldozed to make way for
Severance Center shopping center. The photo was probably taken around
the end of World War I. This was a Cleveland Railway photo as tracks were
shared by Cleveland Railway cars. This later became U.S. 322 and may be
regarded as an early example of a "divided highway!"
