Cincinnati, Hamilton
& Dayton
This modern freight motor
was built for Conway's CH&D and delivered in December 1928. It
passed to the C&LE and was used pretty exclusively on the Northwestern
freight line. All freight was abandoned in June 1938, and this motor
apparently never found another buyer. The Standard trucks -- and
likely the motors -- probably came from old passenger interurban cars.
So we have fairly modern car, probably overshadowed by the 15 motors
that followed it and the Red Devils, toiling away on an obscure assignment
for about a decade before retirement.
