These cars have a lot of
miles on them already...... Consider that the bodyshell was fabricated
in Vienna, Austria by SGP, went (by road I believe) to the Port of Bremerhaven,
by ship to Port Hueneme,Calif. (via the Panama Canal), thence by road to
Sacramento.
Truck frames were fabricated
in Graz, Austria, went via the same route. Then the completed car was shipped
by truck, on that custom built double articulated
trailer, via I-10 (with
three detours because of clearance), to the Port of Jacksonville,
thence via Crowley Liner Services, roll-on/roll-off barge ferry, to the
Port of San Juan, PR. Thence via road to display locations, and finally
by road to the Yard and Shop. I don't know how many miles (or kilometers)
that may be, but it is a lot!
