Mitchell
Mitchell Street & Interurban
Railway
It is a 20 passenger Fairbanks-Morse
gas-mechanical railcar with a Sheffield body and a 30 hp. motor.
It was built by F-M sometime between 1906 and 1909 (my guess is closer
to 1909), and was one of two such cars delivered to the Caldwell Traction
in Caldwell, Idaho about 1910. When that 7-mile line was electrified
in 1913, one of the cars was sold to the Lewistown Terminal, in Lewistown,
Idaho, where it went into service in December, 1913. That little line failed
quickly, and the car was reportedly sold again, in 1915, to the Mitchell
Street & Interurban Ry.
