Dallas
McKinney Line Heritage Operation
Here is the ex-Tandy Subway
car that was rebuilt by McKinney Avenue
Transit Authority in Dallas.
Originally built in 1945 as a Washington, DC standee window 1500 series
PCC, it was reconfigured to high platform loading twice in Ft. Worth (first
by Leonard's M&O Subway - still looking somewhat like a PCC car, then
by The Tandy Corppration as a square box for the same line, before being
sold to McKinney Avenue. MATA rebuilt it again, now back to street
level loading, and it now runs on that system.
