Fon du Lac
Fon du Lac & Oshkosh
Electric Railway
#102 in a St. Louis Car
Co. builders photo. There are few photos of these cars, and the FdL
& O.E.Ry name was only carried for 9 months, at which point the line
was merged with the FdL city car line to form the Eastern Wisconsin Railway
& Light Co. (they both had the same parent.) Again, cars arrived right
before the start of service, so I'd guess this picture is from mid January,
1903. City directories from the period advertise:"Take the Yellow Cars
to Oshkosh." Opening day newspaper accounts also refer to the cars as yellow
with black trimmings. A true departure from the dark green, so typical
of the period.
