1626 turning from Arlington onto 18th and Brownsville Road outbound on the 53 line on one of many PAT reroutes in the 1960s. Originally, the 53 operated inbound from Brentwood loop along Brownsville Rd which becomes 18th to Carson St, then across the Tenth St Bridge to Second Ave, Ross, Third, Ferry (Stanwix), Fourth and Ross and return. A South Hills route, it is a renegade -- the only line to refuse to use the Smithfield St Bridge to and from downtown while operating its own downtown loop
