1636 inbound on the 44 on Smithfield at Liberty on the way to the Union Depot, generally referred to as the PRR station. The South Hills routes had two main loops downtown coming in over the Smithfield St Bridge: 1) Continue on Smithfield to Seventh, Grant, Fort Pitt and back to the Smithfield St bridge and 2) Fort Pitt to Grant, Liberty, Wood, Fort Pitt, and back to the Smithfield St Bridge. The 44 looped via 12th, Penn, 11th and Liberty to pass this location outbound to Wood, Fort Pitt and the Smithfield St Bridge. Then there is the renegade 53 Carrick which came into downtown on Second Ave, Ross, Third Ave, Ferry, Fourth Ave, Ross, and back out Second Ave -- totally different.
