1639 on a fantrip at Broadway at Hampshire in Beechview on October 1 1972. This is a fantrip with 1603, where railfan inserted destination signs were used in photos at Castle Shannon; Finleyville and Canonsburg were removed from signs and were only on PCC interurbans, not city cars. This is a short turn on the 42 Dormont line; short turns were "generally" given a separate number like this 43, the last stop in Beechview before entering Dormont. Other such examples: 11 East St is short turn of 10 West View; 14 Avalon short turn of 13 Emsworth; 25 Island Ave a short of 23 Sewickley; 37 Shannon a short of both Library and Drake Interurbans. The 55A and 56A are exceptions along with the 88 Frankstown short turn which turned at the Homewood Shops
