1700 at Millvale Car House where all of PRCos PCC cars were unloaded from railroad flatcars after shipment from St. Louis Car. This photo was probably taken within hours after the car was unloaded November 30 1948. Next step will be to run the car to Homewood shops for inspection. In many cases PRCo was able to unload a PCC car in the morning, run it over to Homewood Shops where the roll signs and fareboxes would be installed, and have the car in service for the evening rush hour A rather vivid contrast to the weeks to months that it takes nowadays to test, debug, and commission a new light rail vehicle
