An outbound 1700-series PCC is climbing the grade after leaving South Hills Junction. The switch in the foreground on the inbound track was part of a large loop from outbound to inbound South Hills Junction that went out of service about 1953-1955. This connection was maintained to back cars for scrapping near the intersection of Warrington and Haberman
