Ex-Chicago Rapid Transit 1797 was built as an elevated trailer for the Northwestern Elevated in 1907, and in 1913 it was motorized.  In later years it also received modern bulls-eye lighting.  In 1958 it was acquired by the Illinois Railway Museum. Since this photo on April 10 2004, the car has been completely restored and is now in regular operation.
